Lord, You are my God.
(Isaiah 25:1)

Is this not the perfect prayer?

When you are afraid—Lord, You are my God.
When you are sick—Lord, You are my God.
When circumstances overwhelm—Lord, You are my God.

When the path ahead feels uncertain—Lord, You are my God.
When your heart is heavy and you don’t know what to pray—Lord, You are my God.
When you’re waiting for answers—Lord, You are my God.

This simple prayer anchors our hearts in the truth:
He is near.
He is faithful.
He is in control.

No matter what comes, we can rest in the confidence that the same God who spoke the world into being holds every detail of our lives in His hands.

And so we pray—
Today and every day:
Lord, You are my God.

Trust Him, Trust Yourself: Learning to Walk in Step with God http://billiebreeden.com/trust-him-trust-yourself/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=trust-him-trust-yourself http://billiebreeden.com/trust-him-trust-yourself/#respond Thu, 06 Nov 2025 20:48:26 +0000 https://billiebreeden.com/?p=838

I once read a quote that said,
“How would your life change if you knew you could trust yourself?”

Would you breathe easier?
Would you make decisions with more peace instead of second-guessing every step?

Proverbs 3:5–6 (ESV) says:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him, and he will make straight your paths.”

We talk about trusting God, but if we constantly doubt ourselves—our choices, our ability to hear His voice—are we really trusting Him with our whole hearts?

The Spirit Within You

The Bible reminds us:

“Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?”
(1 Corinthians 3:16 NKJV)
“But we have the mind of Christ.” (1 Corinthians 2:16 NKJV)

If God’s Spirit truly lives within us, why are we so hesitant to believe He’s leading us? Why do we doubt what we’ve sensed in prayer?

When Obedience Doesn’t Look Like Success

Think about Daniel. Obedience landed him in a lion’s den. If you were Daniel, wouldn’t you wonder if you’d missed God?

But Daniel didn’t second-guess himself—or God. He trusted that obedience was worth the risk. And in the end, his faith became the platform for God’s power.

“So, Daniel prospered during the reign of Darius and the reign of Cyrus the Persian.” (Daniel 6:28 NIV)

Faith Doesn’t Come with a Road Map

There have been so many times I wished God would just send me a step-by-step plan.
But that’s not faith—that’s control.

Jesus said,

“I no longer call you servants, but friends.” (John 15:15)

Friends walk together. Friends trust one another’s hearts, even without a full itinerary.

Abraham didn’t get a map either. God simply said,

“Go from your country… to the land I will show you.” (Genesis 12:1 NIV)

And Abraham went. He made mistakes, but none of them canceled God’s promise. That gives me hope—and maybe you too.

Fear Wants a Road Map. Faith Just Takes a Step.

So many dreams die waiting for perfect clarity.
But faith moves before the miracle.

“The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” (Proverbs 16:9 ESV)

You’ll never know what’s on the other side of the door until you reach for the handle.

What If You Didn’t Miss It?

Joseph could have easily believed he missed God when he was betrayed, enslaved, or imprisoned. But Psalm 105:19 (AMP) says,

“Until the time that his word came to pass, the word of the Lord tested and refined him.”

You’re not failing—you’re being refined.

A Step of Trust

Recently, my husband and I made a major life change. After losing his job, we felt led to return to what we loved most—working the land. We prayed for a ranch job in Texas, but God led us all the way to Wyoming.

It didn’t make sense. It wasn’t in our plan. But the peace in our hearts said go.

And now, living surrounded by wide skies and open fields, we know it was one of the best decisions we ever made. God didn’t just direct our steps—He walked every one with us.

Trust Him. Trust Yourself.

Maybe you haven’t misheard God. Maybe you’re not lost. Maybe you’re being shaped.

You are a child of God.
His Spirit lives in you.
You have the mind of Christ.
You are being refined, not rejected.

So trust Him—and trust yourself.
He’s put more in you than you realize.

Reflection Questions

  1. When have you doubted a decision you once believed God led you to make?
  2. What would change if you began to trust that the Holy Spirit truly leads you?
  3. What is one step you can take today—even without all the answers?

This post is inspired by Chapter 4 of my book, Unveiled Faces: Fully Known, Fully Free.

Fully Known and Fully Free http://billiebreeden.com/fully-known-and-fully-free/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=fully-known-and-fully-free Thu, 09 Oct 2025 21:58:06 +0000 https://billiebreeden.com/?p=816

What does it mean to be fully known and fully free?

1 Corinthians 13:12 (NIV) tells us,

“For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.”

To be fully known means that God sees every part of us—nothing hidden, nothing overlooked. Before you ever spoke a word, took a breath, or made a mistake, He knew you. He formed you with purpose and intention.

We often hide parts of ourselves from others—and sometimes even from God—fearing judgment, rejection, or misunderstanding. We wear masks to appear “fine,” while deep down, we feel unseen or unworthy. But here’s the truth: God already knows it all, and still calls you His own. That’s where real freedom begins.

David wrote in Psalm 139,

“O Lord, You have searched me and known me.”

He knows us well. He knows our fears, our tears, our trials, our vices, our doubts, and our dreams—He even knows what we believe about ourselves. God knows it all, and yet still chooses us as His own. That’s the beauty of grace.

You don’t have to strive to be loved. You don’t have to hide to be accepted. God sees all of you—and He still calls you chosen, beloved, and free.

When we truly grasp this, everything changes. The walls we’ve built begin to fall. The striving quiets. The shame lifts. Because freedom isn’t found in perfection—it’s found in being fully known and fully loved by the One who created you.

So today, rest in this truth:
You are completely seen.
You are completely loved.
And in Christ—you are completely free.

Why 30 Days with God Can Transform Your Life http://billiebreeden.com/why-30-days-with-god-can-transform-your-life/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=why-30-days-with-god-can-transform-your-life Sun, 28 Sep 2025 18:41:31 +0000 https://billiebreeden.com/?p=699

Have you ever felt stuck in your faith—wanting to grow closer to God but not sure how to make it a consistent part of your life? The truth is, one of the most powerful ways to experience spiritual growth is through daily time with God. And when you commit to doing it for 30 days, something amazing happens: your life begins to change.

Why 30 Days Matters

Experts say it takes about a month to form a new habit. When that habit is centered on prayer, reflection, and Scripture, it doesn’t just add something new to your schedule—it transforms your heart. Thirty days gives you enough time to slow down, reset your focus, and begin to notice God’s presence in your everyday life.

Think of it as planting seeds. With each day you spend in God’s Word, you water the soil of your soul. By the end of 30 days, roots have begun to grow, and you’ll start to see the fruit of peace, joy, and renewed faith.

What Happens When You Spend 30 Days with God

Here are just a few ways consistent time with God over 30 days can impact your life:

  • Clarity & Confidence – God’s Word reminds you who you are in Christ and gives you wisdom for your decisions.
  • Renewed Peace – Daily prayer shifts your focus away from worry and anchors your heart in God’s promises.
  • Spiritual Strength – The more you practice turning to God, the more natural it becomes to rely on Him in every circumstance.
  • Lasting Habits – After 30 days, you won’t want to stop. Spending time with God becomes something you look forward to instead of something you try to squeeze in.

How the 30-Day Journal Helps

To guide you on this journey, I created the 30-Day Journal with God. Each day provides Scripture, a short message, and reflection questions to help you go deeper. You don’t have to wonder what to read or how to structure your time—the journal walks with you step by step.

By the end of 30 days, you’ll have more than just filled pages—you’ll have a stronger relationship with the Lord, a renewed sense of purpose, and a deeper awareness of His presence in your life.

Ready to Begin?

If you’ve been longing for a fresh start in your faith, 30 days is all it takes to open the door to transformation. God is waiting to meet with you—are you ready to take the first step?

Start your journey today with the [30-Day Journal with God]. Your future self will thank you.

You Hold the Key http://billiebreeden.com/you-hold-the-key/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=you-hold-the-key http://billiebreeden.com/you-hold-the-key/#comments Fri, 12 Sep 2025 17:15:38 +0000 https://billiebreeden.com/?p=671

You Hold the Key

You Hold the Key: Unlocking Your Identity in Christ

Why does understanding your identity in Christ matter so much?

Because until you know who you are in Him, you’ll never walk fully in what He has for you. You’ll live beneath your spiritual inheritance—striving to be enough, working harder to prove yourself, but always falling short. You may know Jesus has saved you, but without identity, you’ll live as though you’re still in chains.

A Dream That Changed Everything

Years ago, I had a dream. In it, I was driving down a pitch-black road and came to a locked gate. As I tried to open the lock, a dark figure attacked me from behind. Fear gripped me, but I struck back—and suddenly the figure vanished. When I opened my hand, I saw a key in my palm.

At first, I thought the dream was about facing fears. But later, as I grew in my identity in Christ, I realized it was about something deeper.

The darkness represented my past—the lies I believed, the insecurities I carried, the mindset that told me I would never be enough. That figure wasn’t just chasing me; it was in me.

The key in my hand? That was identity. The Lord was showing me: You already hold the key.

Why Identity Unlocks Destiny

We see this same principle in the story of Israel. God had freed them from Egypt, parted the Red Sea, and provided manna from heaven. Yet when it came time to step into the Promised Land, they hesitated.

Why?

Because they still thought like slaves. Their identity was stuck in Egypt. They didn’t see themselves the way God saw them—and because of that, they wandered for forty years.

We do the same. We believe in Christ but keep disqualifying ourselves. We let shame, insecurity, or past mistakes define us. We stand before open doors, but we never step through because we don’t believe we belong on the other side.

Friend, the door isn’t locked. The key is already in your hand.

When Belief Meets Identity

Joshua’s generation finally entered the Promised Land because they knew who they were. In Joshua 3, the waters of the Jordan didn’t part until the priests stepped into the river.

The miracle followed movement.

The same is true for us. When you walk in your God-given identity, the “waters” that look impossible will make way. As one of my favorite teachers put it, “The waters of impossibility will part when you become convinced of who God says you are.”

What Are You Still Carrying?

Sometimes, before we step in, we have to let go.

– Lies spoken over us
– Words we’ve spoken over ourselves
– Shame and insecurity
– Fear of failure

The battle is not out there—it’s in the mind. And the truth is this:

You are not who others say you are.
You are not who your past says you are.
You are not even who you think you are.
You are who God says you are.

Chosen. Beloved. Qualified.

Pick Up Your Mat and Walk

Like the man at the pool in John 5, many of us sit waiting—for the right time, the right opportunity, or the right person to help us. But Jesus simply said:
“Get up. Pick up your mat and walk.” (John 5:8 NIV)

The healing, the breakthrough, the freedom—it’s on the other side of movement.

So today, I want to remind you:

✨ You hold the key.
✨ Step into the water.
✨ Step into the truth.
✨ Step into the life God has prepared for you.

Reflection Questions:

  1. What “locked gates” in your life might God already be waiting for you to open?
  2. What lies or fears do you need to release so you can walk in your true identity?
  3. What small step of faith can you take this week to act like you already belong in God’s promises?

Living Like We Belong

There’s a powerful truth in Colossians 1:12 that says, “Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of His holy people in the kingdom of light.”

Did you catch that? God has qualified you. Not your works. Not your perfection. Not your flawless performance. God Himself.

And yet—so many of us live as though we’re still disqualified.

We know, at least in our minds, that we are the bride of Christ. But in our hearts, we still carry feelings of unworthiness.
We know we’re children of God, yet we walk with insecurity, fear, or shame.
We believe in Christ’s sacrifice, but deep down, we wonder if we’ve messed up too much to really receive His promises.

That was my reality for a long time.

I knew Christ had saved me.
I knew I had value because of Him.
But I didn’t yet believe I was equipped, empowered, or truly worthy of the calling on my life.

Instead, I kept telling myself:
“Once I get it all together… once I’m good enough… once I finally overcome this weakness—then I’ll step into what God has for me.”

But friend, here’s the truth I had to learn (and maybe you do too):

👉 If we wait until we feel worthy, we’ll never move.
👉 If we wait until we’re perfect, we’ll never walk in our calling.

God never asked us to qualify ourselves. He asked us to trust the One who already did.

When Jesus said, “It is finished,” He meant it. The striving. The proving. The endless cycle of “not enough.” In Him, you are more than enough. You are chosen, called, equipped, and set apart for good works that He prepared in advance for you to do (Ephesians 2:10).

So today, instead of asking, “Am I good enough?” what if you asked, “What has God already declared about me?”

Because here’s the answer:

  • You are His child.
  • You are His beloved.
  • You are His bride.
  • And you are already qualified.

💡 Reflection Questions:

  1. In what ways have you been holding back because you feel unworthy or unqualified?
  2. What would change if you began to live as though you are already equipped and empowered in Christ?
  3. Which promise of God do you need to claim as your own today?
