Living Like We Belong
There’s a powerful truth in Colossians 1:12 that says, “Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of His holy people in the kingdom of light.”
Did you catch that? God has qualified you. Not your works. Not your perfection. Not your flawless performance. God Himself.
And yet—so many of us live as though we’re still disqualified.
We know, at least in our minds, that we are the bride of Christ. But in our hearts, we still carry feelings of unworthiness.
We know we’re children of God, yet we walk with insecurity, fear, or shame.
We believe in Christ’s sacrifice, but deep down, we wonder if we’ve messed up too much to really receive His promises.
That was my reality for a long time.
I knew Christ had saved me.
I knew I had value because of Him.
But I didn’t yet believe I was equipped, empowered, or truly worthy of the calling on my life.
Instead, I kept telling myself:
“Once I get it all together… once I’m good enough… once I finally overcome this weakness—then I’ll step into what God has for me.”
But friend, here’s the truth I had to learn (and maybe you do too):
👉 If we wait until we feel worthy, we’ll never move.
👉 If we wait until we’re perfect, we’ll never walk in our calling.
God never asked us to qualify ourselves. He asked us to trust the One who already did.
When Jesus said, “It is finished,” He meant it. The striving. The proving. The endless cycle of “not enough.” In Him, you are more than enough. You are chosen, called, equipped, and set apart for good works that He prepared in advance for you to do (Ephesians 2:10).
So today, instead of asking, “Am I good enough?” what if you asked, “What has God already declared about me?”
Because here’s the answer:
- You are His child.
- You are His beloved.
- You are His bride.
- And you are already qualified.
💡 Reflection Questions:
- In what ways have you been holding back because you feel unworthy or unqualified?
- What would change if you began to live as though you are already equipped and empowered in Christ?
- Which promise of God do you need to claim as your own today?

A beautiful and much needed reminder. Thank you!
Thank you Angela. Yes, we need to remember that we don’t have to earn God’s love, we have it becuase of what Christ did for us.
